I was going to post up what I thought it was but then I'd be called a bragger or arrogant or a liar but we won't clear out the accounts until after payroll next week. Not really a bonus but company profits.

It will have 5 zeroes and a comma to the left of the decimal and some number between 2 and 9 to the left of the zeroes.

It will have to last until the end of the first quarter in 2011. Not sure how I'll manage. Maybe eat Ramen noodles.

This year everything was cut out... no party, no bonus, not even a pat on the back. To top it off there are rumors of them selling out...... who knows.

That sucks.

We were very close to selling out this year because of the potential of the tax increases in capital gains in 2011. In the end we decided we could grow business enough in the next 3 years to outstrip the increase and put a few more dollars in our pockets.

But as part of the offer we made a list of the employees and what each would get at the conclusion of the sale... even though they have no legal claim to the purchase price. We also made sure each and every employee was to be offered a position at the new company without fear of layoffs for 3 years.

My partners and I have non ill-conceived that we did this all on our own.

Jesus Christ, it's a wonder some of you still have jobs with the way you're acting like kids about your bonus gift.

They owe me 17% in pay increases. Not to mention everyone got 7% profit bonuses besides a select few, apparently I was one of them. So yeah, I'm bitter. They have all the money in the world to keep moving Canadians down here to take over positions but not to give me and some other the money they owe us. By the way the laptop was only given out because the replaced our old ones and it was going to save the company money. The laptop is old and probably does not even work.

Some people also consider not getting a pink slip a Christmas bonus. And I know a few. Helps me keep things in perspective.

That is one of the reasons I chose this career path.

There is a lot to be said for job security.
