Not always true. The engineering field doesn't usually follow that path. I landed a great job the day before I received my diploma while another company that I was interning with for pay was trying to keep me. In the 2 years since I have graduated I was offered another job much higher pay and my company fought it and gave me a better offer to keep me. Most of the friends I graduated with had very similar success landing a good job very quickly after graduation if not before.

Well, when the going rate for entry level nursing in this area starts at $19....
I made more than that in retail management.

LOL... no you won't. It's going to take years before you can do that, but regardless, congrats to her and eventually you.
Wife is starting her Masters after summer.

I have all of my pre reqs, but got a job in the medical software field making as much as nurses around here.

Your wife must be white and you must make more than 30k, my wife went through the same thing for 18 months trying to get into an RN program, and everyone they were taking was a male or a minority, she decided to settle for a spot respitory care, she finished on may 18 started working on the 20th of may and is really happy works 3 days a week, has picked up a couple of xtra shifts, and makes about the same as and RN, but she doesn't have to mess with bed pans, or a lot of that type of crap

If it was easy to make $50-60k with two years of school everyone would do it. My suggestion would be to get a 4 year degree in something loosely related to what she has experience in.

Sounds like a good plan. Might want to check and see how many hours they will allow to be transferred. UTA is pretty TCC friendly and will transfer 72 hours, but most Universities I've looked at are 60. A TCC AA is 64 hours, so she is getting in that range.

You'll have better luck winning the lotto than finishing any of those degrees in 1-2 years an making what she wants.

I suggest not looking for the easy way out an mentally preparing for 3 years of schooling minimum. Trust me...you have the time. In 10 years you will either be glad or disappointed you didn't just committ and follow through.
