My son didn't get his license until he was 19, and it was practically forced upon him. Even after taking driver's ed, it still took him the full 6mo before he even went to get his license after having a permit for the maximum amount of time.
Kids today really don't want to drive. They want to sit in their room on a computer or playing video games.

I always put up a fight as I do not condone her laziness. My dad was always on my side but always told me to do it for my mother and not her. So I did..
She even bought herself a car, and that didn't even motivate herself, I guess taking a $2200 loss is okay to some people?
Her thought process is pure white trash and it aggrivates me to the point that I keep contact to a minimum as it is always some type of drama that I don't care to listen too.. But it's my sister and I'd do anything for her if she needed, but I also let her live by the "you made your bed, now sleep in it" attitude.
god bless.

MY GF is from Vegas and a former Mormon she didn't have a drivers license till she moved here to texas about 3 years ago. She said in vegas you ride the bus or take a cab everywhere. When we started dating I couldn't believe she didn't drive. I pushed her to get a car and a license and she has now had it for a little over 2 years, she is 33, LOL Sometimes when I ride with her I question my decision to get her driving! She still refuses to drive on the freeway and almost has a panic attack when I'm driving in tight situations on the highway.

Weird. I turned 15 the last day of the classroom portion of driver's ed, and got my temp permit the same day.

Co-worker has a son thats 17 and just now is taking drivers ed mainly because he was forced to. Heck I got my permit as soon after 15 as I could and was pissed that my 16th birthday was on a Saturday and had to wait till Monday to actually get my license.

I learned how to drive when I was 13 in an old toyota corolla. It was a 5 speed so at first it would always die on me but eventually I got it.

Works for me. Fewer people on the road and fewer people gunning for cars I want to buy.

The wife is from NZ and less than 25% of kiwis have a DL and that's with the law allowing parents to teach them without a test or anything. Almost everyone does public transport or rides a bike. It's annoying. If you want to run across town, you have to look up bus schedules

I can understand it if you are in a big city or where public transit is vastly popular but other than that I am puzzled.
I started driving in parking lots when I was 14-15 got my permit when I was 16 and wanted to drive everywhere. I learned to drive a standard when I wa about 17 in an old Chevy box truck on my own. I just hopped in and kept going around the parking lot til I didnt stall anymore lol

If they don't want to drive, GREAT. The less dumbfucks trying to text/reply to facebook while driving, the better. I enjoy driving but hate almost getting hit literally every single day from someone not paying attention.
