I have noticed among the new construction around here they use this green matting that is like a green shredded wood. Apparently it is impregnated with grass seeds. The stuff seems to grow quickly and very lush. Sure looks a lot more attractive than traditional sodding. Where can an individual buy this stuff?

Is that the spray on stuff sprayed from a truck?Originally posted by The King View PostIs it hydromulch?
No, this is a roll of matting. I have seen some in HD, but it says the seeds are sold separate so I am not clear if the stuff used by the contractors has the seed already in it, or if this stuff is just used to keep the seeds from blowing or washing away before germinating.

No. Hydromulch is applied by spraying it on the ground. It has the seeds, small pieces of paper and some other stuff that I can't remember and is usually used for larger pieces of land (i.e. soccer fields). The only reason I know any of this is that I used to represent a company that did hydromulching and got sued for a BS claim that they didn't apply it correctly.Originally posted by The King View PostIs it hydromulch?
