    TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - An Arizona Department of Public Safety Officer left his K-9 in a vehicle for over an hour.

    Officer Dave Hopkins tells KGUN9 the an officer was switching vehicles and left his K-9 in the vehicle at DPS Headquarters at 6401 South Tucson Boulevard.

    When the dog was discovered in the vehicle, he had a temperature. He was taken to a local veterinarian for observation.

    The name of the officer is being withheld at this time, pending an internal investigation.
