Your opinion about serving ones country in a time of war is a little hard for me, and I'm sure other combat veterans to cope with since I'm assuming you know nothing about combat OR what it takes to be a warrior. It's difficult for a veteran to justify all the inhumane actions that come along with war. Instead of totally loosing our minds, veterans validate their combat actions with a false since of selfworth. But until you've been shot at or have taken a life, you'll never understand the day to day struggles within each and every combat veteran. I know that I've stood in the face a death and pushed forward, that at least counts for something.Originally posted by Broncojohnny View PostThat is the cardinal rule of arguing with anyone that has an inflated sense of self worth. Fact is, everything Matt has done has been done by a million other drones in this world who spew the same bullshit he does every chance they get just to feel important.
And, there hasn't been a million Marines with the MOS designator of 0321. When you've put it in the sweat, blood and tears it takes to proudly call yourself a Reconnaissance Marine, then you can talk. But until that day, you are just talking out of your ass.

i tend to give anyone who has served the benefit of the doubt for two main reasons. One is because of my gratitude for their service and the second is that i havent served so what the hell do i know. but with that being said, many times there are guys that are so ridiculous in their behavior, they remove all doubtOriginally posted by Cannon View PostYour opinion about serving ones country in a time of war is a little hard for me, and I'm sure other combat veterans to cope with since I'm assuming you know nothing about combat OR what it takes to be a warrior. Yea, I wasn't there either..... YOU had different ROE than we did in the Marines.Originally posted by Forever_frost View PostYou evidently have no idea what we did in Iraq. I wasn't allowed to fire until I was fired upon. By ROE. Which is why my weapon didn't fire a single round UNTIL I got shot in the head.
You called me a liar. I told you to prove it and you totally avoided backing up your claim. Typical Alan punk move. Did you take that from Eric's playbook. You guys are the purest definition of "dish it out but can't take it".Originally posted by Broncojohnny View PostYou being against deflecting is like a christian being against Christ.
Again...OR WHAT? As in....YOU WILL DO WHAT?
You'll do absolutely nothing but keep coming back for more.
I'm not at work, posting as an official. You don't grasp the concept that I can have an opinion outside of my job. I'm an individual with free speech just like you, or can't you handle that?Originally posted by Forever_frost View PostAre you saying you're holding a forum mod to a higher standard than you want us to hold you?
A forum mod is representing the FORUM! They have to be impartial and unbiased for the good of the board and set personal feelings aside. Just like I had to when I was a mod/admin for www.modulardepot.com

This strikes me as funny.Originally posted by Forever_frost View PostWould anyone else like to compare police to military? Because we'd be a lot safer under the military ROE than currently as we are treated by police.
How many times have you been shot by the police?
Now, how many times were you shot by a foreign enemy???
Hmmmmm........................

Riding on the back of someone else's accomplishments again????Originally posted by talisman View PostFucking goddamn it. I also forgot the cardinal rule of arguing with former military: If you haven't been in the service your opinion is immediately less valid. Any time Matt would like to put his families military history against mine, I'll be more than happy to oblige him. It won't be a pretty sight.
And what have you done Alan? Feel free to regale us with your acts of military and/or public service.....Originally posted by Broncojohnny View PostThat is the cardinal rule of arguing with anyone that has an inflated sense of self worth. Crickets.... That's what I thought....
