When I worked at Cummins it was company policy to be branded (or marked by your master like common slaves). Since I was a house monday I could order my own clothing with the logo, but the field mondays had to go through uniform service. IF you were unbranded a manager was to get you a shirt immediately. I literally had $1000 worth of shirts of my office.

<-- follows the paycheck....
I'm certain there are many others out there that deal with the same thing, just curious to hear how bad it "could be" if it was a full time job hearing this stuff..
I'm also a big fan of open book management.

It empowers and keeps the excitement going with some. They're usually the type that want some place to belong. It makes others roll their eyes because they're 5'10" and their management makes them feel bad for going to the Buckle to buy their jeans.Originally posted by Roscoe View Post<-- follows the paycheck....

I don't see it as a bad thing at all, it's good to be proud of where you work. On the other hand, it can be a beating for anyone just going through the motions to "have" to wear the brand.Originally posted by Roscoe View Post<-- follows the paycheck....

We have a week long sales conference at corporate 3 times a year, and on at least one of the days I wear a branded golf shirt just because I really do appreciate my measily $2B company. Well honestly, I realize that the company itself could give two shits about me, but my immediate peers and management are completely awesome, which makes it a great company to work for.
Not only is it open book, but I have a personal relationship with my manager, and that goes a long way in terms of motivation. No way in hell would she have given me the opportunity that she did, if she didn't know and trust me as a person. I sure as hell didn't get the job based on my sales experience.
As Johnny2k said, "chug that shit."

If you sellin' big cheese, keep pushin', my poppycockaOriginally posted by talisman View PostThat is some funny shit. But it does actually make some sense that you wouldn't want to wear Hilfiger to an interview at Abercrombie & Fitch.
Polo horses on my bed - fuck Hilfiger

If they didn't offer clothes that suite MY style, I'd say to hell with that... No way I'd put on a pair of skinny pants and some gay ass shirt in order to work there.
Now a company shirt or two is one thing but everyday and certain colors and all branded...that's a uniform as previously stated.
Of course if it was making some serious skrilla, then I would conform...
