I have a friend who works at Lowes and some guy left his brand new iphone 4 and he took it home and the next day came back to work and the guy was up there with a google map explaining where exactly his phone was. Had some tracking device type of app lol.

She says she's trying to return it to its owner. Then you respond "If you lost your phone, Marisa, would you want someone to return it to you?". Putting her name in the question directs it towards her, not towards those who were making offers. Obviously she would want it returned, that's why she's looking for ideas on how to locate the owner.
