Yeah I also agree with that, but I think the drag coefficient might have played into it. The flex is a really long son of a bitch - you think of them as small, but they are deceivingly large. I saw a flex 3.5 run a 13.9 at ennis when they first came out, I couldn't fucking believe it."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

I have a 2011 EB FX2 crewcab and it currently has 18k miles on it. I drive mostly city and average between 17-17.5 mpg, but when my wife drives it she averages 14.5-15.5 mpg. Its all about how you drive it, just like any other car. Last week coming back from Corpus Christi I got 21mpg and when pulling my 18ft steel car trailer with a mustang on it I get 14-14.5 mpg.Current rides:
1973 Camaro 350/350
1991 GMC Sierra Stepside
2012 Gt500
2006 Dodge MegaCab 5.9 cummins

I would love for my Edge to have the TT V6 but the 4 cylinder does the job quite well. I heard they also put the 4 cylinder in the Explorer and it's a bit of a turd. I've never driven one though.Originally posted by Jose View PostMy bad. Wonder why they didn't do the Edge with a 3.5? I can see the Escape having the single turbo 4 banger but the Edge is a bigger vehicle.
Update: I drove to East texas today (about 300 miles round trip) mainly highway and about 65-70 MPH and I got 26 MPG according to the display which is fairly accurate.

The new '13 Explorer Sport will have the same 3.5L Twin Turbo's that comes in the F150.Originally posted by jason07 View PostI would love for my Edge to have the TT V6 but the 4 cylinder does the job quite well. That 1/4 mile time is impressive. Wonder if it was stock?Originally posted by CJ View PostYeah I also agree with that, but I think the drag coefficient might have played into it. I have no idea, but I've seen a few people claim 13's on stock flex's.Originally posted by Jose View PostThat 1/4 mile time is impressive. Wonder if it was stock?
Like this guy:
Another apparent stocker running a 14.15
It seems plausible with ambient temperature to break off a high 13 stock. That's quick.
Another apparently stock Flex in the 13's:

The way I understand it is they are more of an AWD type drive, FWD until certain parameters are met the a wet clutch is engage to give power to rear.Originally posted by Sgt Beavis View PostYou have that backwards. It ONLY comes with 4WD."It's another burrito, it's a cold Lone Star in my hand!"

Yea, you're correct about that. They just call it 4WD with a "Terrain Management System". I've read that it is fairly good, but it obviously isn't for hard offroading..Originally posted by dee View PostThe way I understand it is they are more of an AWD type drive, FWD until certain parameters are met the a wet clutch is engage to give power to rear.
