Toyota of Irving. Not Texas Toyota.Originally posted by redfiveohconv View PostI know of a Texas Toyota in Irving, my boss has bought two cars from there. I went there to look at some Tacos. Not impressed. But ended up buying a new Tundra from Pat Lobb in McKinney. Great price, and easy to deal with. I sat down with the GM and told him exactly what I wanted, and what price I needed.Originally posted by mustang_revival View PostToyota of Richardson is good too.
Plus, I got $1K in cordless power tools shipped to me, some incentive they're doing this month. So that was good.

We got to within $150.00 of what we really wanted to pay which ended up representing MSRP less about $500.00.
The car is great, the deal was OK for us, not spectacular, but still OK, and I'm sure the dealership made out alright as well.
I would just hate to go in (anywhere) to buy a car unarmed... we had good pricing info on the car we wanted, plus competitive trade-in bids on ours as well.
It was a long day, I'm beat.

sorry to hear, i wish i could have gotten you in touch with ronnie first, not that it would have made anything better, but you never know.Originally posted by mardyn View PostThe buying process over there was both arduous and exhausting for us. Although we came away with an "OK" deal, we'll likely not make another purchase there in the future.

Things may have changed (doubtful) in the past 10 years or so, but I got a car sales job when I was between jobs for a while, and it was at a Van Tuyl dealership (Crest Cadillac in Plano). The Van Tuyl training was ridiculous. They essentially train you to be a sleezebag. They were also flooding the floor at that time (hired at least 5 times more people than they need - pissed off the tenured guys, gave little hope for the new guys, made everyone into vultures, and really ran off some customers), which is a tactic that seems very counterproductive, imo.Originally posted by Tyrone Biggums View PostYep. Van Tuyl owns Grapevine Ford, Texas Toyota and Texas Nissan.
Skip is great to deal with, but I normally cringe when I hear "Van Tuyl".

I would recommend Toyota of Richardson first. I have hookups there. PM me your contact info for those who need a Toyota and I will try to hook it up.
VT Dealers are controlled by their GM/Partner. Just like any other dealership, some run better than others. It's all in how the GM wants his business run.BEWARE OF PEREZ TRANSPORT LLC

Yep, Grapevine Ford and Grapevine Collision are class acts, even the mechanic shop at Grapevine Toyota have always treated my parents right, but their sales team isnt the best, and ive heard it from plenty of people thru out the years...Originally posted by saleen449 View PostI would recommend Toyota of Richardson first. But a lot of dealerships dont have people like you and Purdy that go the extra mile to make the deal and AFTER the sale service.
