I used to disagree with this, but after 3 toll violations, I say fuck em, those plates are mine. The last straw was when I got a toll charge on a car that I reported as sold, but their records didn't show that and I lost the damned print out. I wasn't even in the country when one charge was reported, I was floating in the gulf of mexico.Originally posted by Trick Pony View PostNever leave the plates on a car when you sell it.

The database doesn't show that it has been renewed but I also didn't put tags on the car either so I don't know what's going on. Last I saw that car it was being put on a trailer with no tags and then driven off. Now I have this crap.Originally posted by stevo View PostIs the car being driven with a registration expired two and a half years, or did he somehow get it registered for two more years in your name?

You need to find out, since it is not legal for him to register it in your name without your permission.Originally posted by RCITNet View PostThe database doesn't show that it has been renewed but I also didn't put tags on the car either so I don't know what's going on. I sold a Car years ago to a forum memeber here. He never transfred it.. I started getting toll tag violations a few months later....
So i went to the DMV and had to fill out a form stating i sold the car and the idiot new owner was to much of a lazy fuck to transfer it. I faxed it and the sales receipt to the NTTA and they cleared it up.
ironically a few years later i got a call from McKinney PD saying they had my car and it was in their inpound lot. I told them i sold it 4 years prior and they could keep it.2016 250 Mini dozer

The last time I sold a car I told the buyer to meet me the next morning at the title office. All state paperwork was done with both of us standing there. If the car sold is running that's the way I'll always do it."You wouldn't know what crazy was if Charles Manson was eating Fruit Loops on your front porch"

That is a good plan.Originally posted by AdRock View PostThe last time I sold a car I told the buyer to meet me the next morning at the title office. All state paperwork was done with both of us standing there. If the car sold is running that's the way I'll always do it.
But alot of people buy a car and don't want to pay the taxes.

Then you wouldn't sell to someone like me, mainly because I am not handing you cash without that title and keys in my hands. Plus I am the type that brings cash and I intend on leaving with a car on that day, I ain't coming back.Originally posted by AdRock View PostThe last time I sold a car I told the buyer to meet me the next morning at the title office. Hmm, I got a parking ticket for plates that were on my old stang. Thing is, these were the old plates that I threw away after 7 years, and the ticket was given after they werre thrown away. I blew it off and never heard from them. Could this still be on file some where? It was probably over 10 years ago when I got the notice.
