G4 gave the galaxy tablet a pretty bad review. No faster than the phones, doesn't have better resolution than the phones, iffy touch response, etc. For the price, they said the ipad beat it hands down.

Yeah, for 800 plus. It would be better to get it at Best Buy and get the warrenty. That way when the new one comes out, yours can suddenly get dropped and replaced by it. Thats what the sales guy told us.

1. Warranties don't cover damage from abuse - so dropping it most likely isn't going to score you a new ipad.
2. If, by some chance, the warranty did cover a dropped unit - they are going to replace it with a like model. Similar features/storage. If a like model isn't available, they normally cut you a check for a pro-rated amount.

They did my GPS about 3 years ago. Just quit working though. And when the new Ipads get in, there wont be any old ones left. Then they have to be replaced by the like model available.

Salesmen lie. Period. Unfortunately it's mostly due to the lack of knowledge that they have, but when it comes down to it, they just want to make money. If I had a nickle for everytime a customer said to me "Well, my salesman said..." I might not be rich, but I'd be eating very well. I seriously want to beat the piss out of some salesmen for some of the shit they've put me through.

They are regulated by Apple-no one is going to have a 'sale' on them.

Actually this statement is not entirely TRUE..

Know anyone active service members? they can buy the ipad for 10.00 off and no tax for any model.. free ship to your house... just need to be a service member or contractor with exchange privlages...

Its the only thing that is a good deal from AAFES.... IMO.

My Mom just got one 2 weeks ago... (id card holder).. i like my Ipad, but i admit it is my first apple product. i couldn;t see getting one if you have an iphone or itouch..

For traveling, it is great... i have some issues with mine, but it regards websites for my work... its more on my company than apple...
