I really don't understand this mindset at all. Sure if you suck with money it makes perfect sense but I like having good credit, and no debt (besides my truck and house.)

So he is paying $1,500 more than the cost of the truck plus TTL? That seem od regardless of how much of a great deal you got and how great the "market" is.

I was offered $4k more than I owe and $2k less than I paid for a new 2010 F150 Lariat SCrew just a month ago, as I was wanting to see the going rate.

I passed, because the financially responsible would say to pay it off and keep it since I only have 22k miles on it and will drive it for many, many more years after it is paid off.

Just sayin'.... Positive equity is never a bad thing, doesn't mean you need to go negative.
