This is an open adoption where we have a regular relationship with his birth mother. We are simply not going to hide the adoption from him. When he is ready he'll ask questions and we'll give answers. For now his birth mother is being called his Aunt to avoid confusion.

We get that a lot. His birth father could pass for my little brother. No one would guess he was adopted unless they were told.
