I was just kidding. The beggars don't bother me as much as long as they don't touch my car and stay out of the street. The ones that just stand there on the corner are nothing more than an eye sore. If someone gives them money, it's their own fault they got hustled. I've seen with my own eyes off of I30 when I worked for DART, a guy standing on a corner to walk back to his couple year old Caddy and take off. I bet some of those guys that do that stuff make some decent money doing that.

Actually, I'd love to go on a ride along some time to see for myself what you guys have to deal with. I think we all have an idea, but would be much different to see it from the officers perspective.

Ever been on Bryant Irvin? Panhandlers are a serious crime over there. The road can't even come close to supporting the traffic load normally and right now they have lane closures for the toll road construction. These idiots walk around and distract drivers and of course lots of drivers stop to hand them money, it makes a bad situation considerably worse.

Its usually a city ordinance against pan handling, pedestrian in roadway, or whatever and there is always an exception wrote in to the ordinance for FD and PD. Ours even has to have the truck with them to do it. LOL
