Pretty sure he said it's bolted through the foundation.Originally posted by Grimpala View PostFirst tornado and that thing is getting tossed like a salad. There is nothing anchoring it to the ground and with that carport he's created a sail. He welded rebar to the connex and then poured the slab over it. He has roughly 20T in concrete with a 6" slab and then another 10 or so in conex and various equipment. Granted it's not going to be as easy to toss as a semi, but it's not near heavy enough for me to feel safe inside it.Originally posted by CJ View PostPretty sure he said it's bolted through the foundation.

He could have at least buried half of the containers or drilled piers to anchor to.

I like his ingenuity, but his planning needs help. Overall I give it a 7.5.G'Day Mate

You mean like where he says that there are rebar anchors in the concrete welded around the container every 18"?Originally posted by Grimpala View PostFirst tornado and that thing is getting tossed like a salad. I've seen some nice conex camps. They can be spiffied up quite nice.Originally posted by kbscobravert View PostI need a connex too. Right now I am living in a tent. If I can stay here another couple years maybe then I can rate a connex as my living quarters again.

Oh, you need one to store shit in. Meh, we use them as fine upscale living.G'Day Mate

You mean like when I was typing mine when yours was posted? I highly doubt he's going to have a problem unless it gets hit by a tornado. If he does, it'll likely pull the screws out of the sheet metal of the carport and blow through.Originally posted by Grimpala View PostYou mean like reading my response above you?

I doubt he'll ever have a problem with it. But, there's always the what ifs.Originally posted by ThreeFingerPete View PostYou mean like when I was typing mine when yours was posted? Exactly. What if a tornado-monsoon-typhoon-godzilla hit it?!?! If mother nature is wound up enough, virtually no man-made building is going to stand up to it, so why worry about it? Build it strongly enough to sustain the 99% and move along.Originally posted by Grimpala View PostI doubt he'll ever have a problem with it. But, there's always the what ifs.
