Time to get a new phone. What to get?

My upgrade date for a new cell phone is tomorrow, but I do not know what I want. I currently have a Garminfone. I know... I'm one of 5 people that actually bought that phone, but it did well in the two years I have had it. Whatever I get will not be an Iphone of any kind. I am with T-mobile. Any suggestions?

Yup. I bought the Garminfone. It has been a really good phone, but to be fair it was my first smartphone. I only bought it because I new it had a navigation system. I did not know at the time that you could download Google Maps for free (which is better than the Garmin system anyway).

This time I want to get a quality phone that will last me 2 years.

The offer on T-mobile's site for a free S2 is only for new customers... not existing schmucks like me

I've heard and seen a lot of wonderful things about the S3, but do I NEED the S3. I can get an S2 for $150 or an S3 for $280. The funny thing is that the S2 and S3 have the same processor as my wife's Samsung Galaxy blaze. I'm sure the S3 is a better phone, but is it that much better?
