Was my idea that stupid? I'd rather not text as a passenger then all the needless deaths. Oh wait, you don't see the aftermath of texting and driving. I do. I see the famines at the scene. I wash the blood stained road. If you saw the mangled bodies like I do, I think you would feel the same way.Comment
I like it, figure it out and you'll be rich!Originally posted by FunFordCobra View PostThe fucking solution is so easy but none implements it. Every phone has GPS now days... If the GPS detects you are moving more then 5 mph.... There should be an automatic texting lock. Problem solved with a simple software update..Originally posted by Nash B.Damn, man. Sorry to hear that. If it'll cheer you up, Geor swallows. And even if it doesn't cheer you up, it cheers him up.

And what of the other causes of crashes? Bad tires, bad wiper blades, eating in the car, the car itself? What are you going to do to address those? Lock the car down or remove it all together? And what of police who text or play on their laptops in the squad while doing 80 mph while weaving through traffic? Are you locking theirs too? How much of your freedom are you willing to give up for security?Originally posted by FunFordCobra View PostWas my idea that stupid? I'd rather not text as a passenger then all the needless deaths. Lol ok pumpkin.
Will I feel better if it was due to a drunk driver? What about an 18 wheeler tire that causes a major accident? What if a flying condor hits them in the head when the top is down?
You can play all the what if and anecdotal BS you want but you trying to fix it by just "banning texting" is not the right answer.
Do you wear sunscreen every time you go outside?

Emotional plea versus freedom. If the 16 year old drives and texts and is in an accident, you try her as an adult and sentence her for a LONG, LONG time. Hell, you might as well arrest people for smoking in their cars as well because they COULD dump the butt out the window and start a wildfire that kills people. Or regulate cars to 20 mph because any higher and worse injuries could result from inattention.Originally posted by FunFordCobra View PostWe will see where you stand when your mother, daughter, or wife gets taken out by a 16 year old driver while she is texting. How do you figure? Do they not all result in casualties? Do you not have to wipe blood off the street on each one? Do you not have to notify families? What about drunk drivers? How has laws against that worked out? Do we have more or less drunks on the roads? Do you have 16 year old girls not drinking and killing people with their cars?Originally posted by FunFordCobra View PostComparing apples to oranges as always.

Not at all.. How are "condors" hitting you in the head when you are driving versus texting and driving even remotely similar? The logic of some of you guys never ceases to amaze me and one of the main reasons I don't post anymore. For the most part, this site has gone to shit and runs rampant with idiots.
I threw an idea out. Some will like it, some will not. I couldn't care less.Comment
Is drinking and driving legal? You just proved my point. Thanks.
Imagine if drinking and driving was legal. Don't you think casualties would increase?
If texting and driving was illegal, at least the rate of death would go down significantly.
All I stated is that there needs to be a mph lock on GPS phones for texting.Comment
