If work didn't pay for my cell phone I wouldn't have a smart phone anymore, the prices are just face-rape now-a-days. I'd just have a shit call/text phone and then a laptop or tablet since you can't go anywhere that doesn't have free wifi anymore.
can I port my current phone # over to Virgin or Straighttalk?

From what I've heard, yes. Have a friend that went from AT&T to Straight Talk and kept his number. He lives out in Sanger and has great reception and unlimited talk, text, and 3G for ~$50 a month on his iPhone 4S.

There are pros and cons to each, off and on contract. Typically, the MVNO's has horrid cust service and will boot you so fast your head will spin if you violate TOS.

Yeah, usually just need account number and pin number to port it out.

Virgin is sprint technically since virgin uses there network. So, what they have is what you should get.

The guy saying virgin uses AT&T was not correct.
