I'd like to see where they get their Texas figures. Engineers could make $40k in 3-4 months if they wanted at UP. $450-700+ a day, 5-6 days a week =|= those figures.

Also I heard UP's engineers are getting a 20% raise over 5 years, starting this year, with conductors getting 18%.

Like I explained in post 47 those numbers are based on a 40 hour work week. Someone who makes $23.00 an hour can make six figures if they want to work 70 hours a week. I was surprised at how low the hourly rate is for railroad workers. Hell the UPS lady that services my work makes $33.00. And she gets to work regular hours and be home every night.
