All "we take pride in our dysfunctions, eat our young, show no mercy" forum bullshit aside I'm glad you found what you needed in there, and it sounds like you were able to help some others (even if just temporarily) in the process.

$10 says none of this actually happened, Jester just sat in a corner thinking it happened while drooling on himself

Most of those guys are grunts who have a sense of humor they don't get to use there. Everyone is afraid of stepping on their toes.

we had one little quick class and i have no idea what in the hell it was about, but I do remember that the lady gave us all little nerf balls to toss to each other. that was fucking awesome. i had never been so happy to throw and catch a little ball in all of my life. it was like that week was dedicated to reminding us how fun being a kid actually could be.

i also remember staring out the window at the courtyard down below. i wanted so badly just to lay on the grass and sit beneath a tree.

    yes it does.

and no, i have not taken my meds. Meds are what put me in the hopsital in the first place. meds and an unstable environment made me goofy. no meds and peace made me good to go.

Exactly. Everyone, including me, had their hair triggers. You have no idea what anyones hair trigger is and the nurses are on full alert at all times. They really started to like me at about day 3 because for some reason the patients would open up to me and let down their guard with me. I guess it was because I had an air about me that was completely peaceful and I had a quick easy smile.

I had 2 guys that were very agitated because every time they started doing pushups in their room to pass time, a nurse would bust them and tell them to stop. these guys just had nervous energy and wanted to bust out reps. i told them to go in their bathrooms. the nurses cant come in the bathroom without knocking. so when they knock, stop doing pushups......and I added "big fucking deal if they catch you! what are they gonna do, put you in a mental hospital!?" they all laughed about that and went about their day doing as I said. I also saw one halfway down the hall with a pissed off look coming my way so i turned around and dropped my pajama bottoms and mooned him! He busted out laughing and said "ah, gonna be one of those type of days!" So many of these guys were just having a hard time with the day to day stresses that they really responded with my "let's have some fun in here" attitude. Me helping others laugh and relax really helped me to laugh and relax.
