    New job

    Well, getting off the travel team for the depot. I have been a term employee since 08 and they have started only renewing our terms for 6 months at a time. The depot is getting ready to lay off somewhere around 1600 term employees after the first of the year but travel division wasn't supposed to be affected. I got offered a permanent status job, but it's in Norfolk, VA. I'm taking it anyways, the stability and being able to not travel will be worth it in the end. Plus I only have to be there 90 days before I can try to transfer back home and keep my status lol. Wish me luck as I try out the east coast for a while lol.

        I'm a DOD employee and my job was only set to last a year at a time, then it was cut to 6 months at a time. I got offered a permanent job, just have to move to Virginia to take it. Moving is better than sitting around waiting to get laid off.

              Virgina is pretty cool. Congrats man. Moving for a job is always an exciting experience. I did and never looked back, couldn't be happier.

                  I have been working on the MRAP family of military vehicles for the past 4 years, but I'm moving into a forklift shop for the naval base.

                      There always looking for MRAP CORs, AC First have a contract w/ Gov and the Dept of the Army needs CORs to oversee that contract. Look on USA jobs, if your willing to deploy? I deployed with a few guys from the Depot that did that work and had right back to there position.

                        I've been to Iraq, Kuwait twice and just got back from Afghanistan last May. Been there, done that lol!! My daughter will be 11 next May and it's time to stay home for a while.
