I was reading an article where an old man in the UK was digging in his garden and found an old WWII rifle. Being the good citizen, he took it right away to his local authorities. Even though the gun was clearly rusted and inoperable and still had dirt on/in it from having been buried, just like he said he found it, they arrested him for possession of the gun.

For sake of argument, how do you propose these bans take affect? Do you expect all the good and bad citizens to come forward and give up their rifles which they have $$$$$ invested with nothing in return? Hell no, nobody is going to voluntarily do that. So what next? ATFwhomever does door to door searches? What if not one gives consent (what fool would) then either they are going to need warrants or they will with deadly force TAKE your guns? Whether you agree with people owning such guns, YOU need to support our rights given by the 2nd Amendment because it is one of several slippery slopes that once gone will NEVER be regained.

Look at what happened to law abiding citizens during Katrina. It can happen again. Search youtube for "katrina gun" and find dozens of reports of unlawful confiscation and searches. The sophistication of technology is already to the point they can see through truck trailers. They do it at the borders now. The technology exists that can see through your house with greater detail. They are just scratching the surface of the ability to see through concrete walls. Couple this with the drone technology, it will eventually get to the point that you can't hide them. They will go for the low hanging fruit first. The honest, registered owners having already been profiled over data collected from various sources on that person. When they come knocking, its likely they will already know what you own or have a pretty good idea. You will either lie and they will arrest you and detain you for an unspecified amount of time and take them anyway, you give them up, or you go down in a blaze of glory. The technology is already here. Its the conditioning of the laws and the liberal left citizens is all that's left.
