Now see, here we all were having serious and intellectual banter and you come in and shit all over it with that white-trash analogy.
It's my job to throw in some white trash analogies.
In all seriousness, I believe that a sick criminal will find a way around the law. If weapons like these are banned, they can either purchase them illegally, or use a different weapon. Humans are corrupt and evil will not be contained by laws (I am not saying that all laws are useless and a burden to life).
First, the reason we need a weapon like that as a citizen is because the 2nd amendment was designed to give the citizens the ability to remove a tyrannous government. How are you going to remove them with a .22 with 5 round magazines? Our American duty is to be ever vigilant and keep and bear arms.
I dont care what people say about you Frost, you can be spot on at times.
Who gives a fuck? If I want to go shoot a way over-powered piece of weaponry in a field, I feel I have the right to do so.
I think you can wipe your ass with your hand and wash the shit off. Ban toilet paper, there is no true need for it!

Im not trolling im being serious. Think about it, you do not need a gun like that on the streets. Everything you need to be done can be done with a pistol.

Alex, I'm sure you're dead serious about this thread, so I'll try to make it as clear as possible...
You have two types of people in this world. There are good people, who actually do their best to abide by laws and bad people, who might or might not do bad things all the time, but do not look at laws limiting them if they chose to do something they want (either good or bad).
Generally speaking, the number of good people outweight the bad. This is proven by the status of our society. Yes, fucked up things like this happen from time to time (especially in these financially down times), but for the most part, we make it day after day with our families returning home safe.
OK, so now if there are laws enacted to restrict the average person from possessing firearms, the only people turning in firearms will be the good people since abiding by the law is what they do. The only people left with firearms will be people that would rather break the law in order to get their way.
Knowing this on both sides, the bad people will hold a significant advantage to get whatever they want since they are the only ones with firearms. The amount of bad people will far outnumber the amount of designated "legal" firearm holders, like law enforcement. Now if they would go as far to committing crimes before this hypothetical scenario became a reality, what do you think will happen once they hold a greater advantage?
I won't state the obvious. I will just wait to see your reply.
Have you noticed the climb in wrong way drivers that have been killing with no age bias? We need to start rethinking the car. Maybe it's time to ban them all.
I was reading an article where an old man in the UK was digging in his garden and found an old WWII rifle. Being the good citizen, he took it right away to his local authorities. Even though the gun was clearly rusted and inoperable and still had dirt on/in it from having been buried, just like he said he found it, they arrested him for possession of the gun.
It wasn't a WWII rifle. It was a shotgun. But yeah, fuck the liberal U.K. gov't.
I'm wondering what other rights these libs demand we be licensed for. Exercise of religion? Free speech? Oh, I know. You have to pass a background check, mental eval and pay a tax stamp to use your right to privacy.
