I want a C6 Z06, looked for a while but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. The plan is the same as with the C5, wait until the next gen gets released and then go after the reduced C6 values.

And if it wasn't for these pesky kids, we would have gotten away with it!Originally posted by CJ View Post^^ yeah see above, the mystery was solved! I blame irrational exuberance.

^^ yeah see above, the mystery was solved! I blame irrational exuberance. And my brother has the vette! It's a shared asset, so I only know half of what I'm talking about.Originally posted by 46Tbird View PostNo you didn't.
Bill Mitchell was head of design at GM. Duntov was head of engineering for Corvette. I thought you own one of these!Last edited by CJ; 01-15-2013, 02:56 PM.

The split window 1963 Corvette is my favorite amoung the early Vettes. The 1995 ZR1 in Cloisonne Blue Pearl (Admirals blue) and the 2012 Z-O6 in Black.
And now I'll take a 2014 Stingray in Black please.

For some reason I thought Zora was the designer of the body for the '63 vette, but maybe I'm mistaken. I know Mitchell did the Mako Shark concept car, which the C2 is derived from. No, apparently Shinoda designed the body, Mitchell was his boss, and Zora didn't like the split window (which I find hilarious since I thought he was the one who insisted on the unbroken line).Last edited by CJ; 01-15-2013, 01:47 PM.

Yes, I believe all that is correct, but I'm sure some Master Googler will correct us here in a few minutes...Originally posted by CJ View Postof course, but I don't usually hear someone associate Bill Mitchell with the C2, usually Zora Duntov. Both were instrumental. I might be confused about who did what in the design of the car. I think Zora was in charge of the mechanics and direction, and Mitchell designed the body, is that right?

correctedOriginally posted by 46Tbird View PostI can handle all the scoops and spoilers and stripes, whatever. But that thing is just ugly at its core. I don't hate all of it, but that ass is terrible. I don't know why GM can't come up with a well-styled vehicle anymore. The C6 was the last thing that came away with any sense of proportion and detail.
Hopefully someone at GM will dig upBill Mitchell'sZora Duntov corpse and put it back to work.

haha, truth.Originally posted by talisman View PostAren't you a little old for a "mid life" crisis? Don't you mean an "I'm almost dead so I better hurry up and spend my kids inheritance" crisis?
My wife was saying this the other day. She said I can't have a midlife crisis by buying a new Vette, since I've had sports cars my entire life. Hell I (we) didn't own a 4-door car until that 2004 Volvo T-5.
This car is going to make me go to the darkside...
