I am cut and so is my boy . I had a midwife do it with my help and was all over everything . She gave him a couple shots and he never so much as flinched . My thinking was that I know how to take care of mine so it would be easy to teach him . I have a nephew who is un cut and has had tons of trouble . You get to pick when its done and who does it so exercise your power . If you don't mind the ant eater look leave it .Big Rooster Racing

I highly doubt any insurance company will deny local anesthetic like lidocaine for a procedure. Its generic and a cheap medication. Where are you getting your research studies at? They sound like complete bullshit to me. All the circumcisions I saw in school (10-12) used lidocaine to numb the skin like they do when you get sutures.Originally posted by Treasure Chest View PostIt varies by hospital and by insurance coverage. Some give Tylenol, some use local creams, others will use a penile block, but it's not an across the board thing.

Not all insurance companies cover RIC, either. It's so good to know that the 10-12 circumcisions you witnessed occurred at every hospital around the country, so you're well aware of the individual policies of every provider performing every circumcision.Originally posted by 8mpg View PostI highly doubt any insurance company will deny local anesthetic like lidocaine for a procedure. Do a little bit of research. The AAP even points out that it's important to discuss aesthetic options for the child's procedure.

It is. A friend of mine's child was circumcised without anesthesia back in September because her OB had more concerns about the side effects of topical anesthesia than with the "brief discomfort" the baby would feel from circumcision. My oldest was also circumcised without. I assure you, it still happens. The AAP recommends it and cites studies on increased pain response in the case of unmedicated procedures.Originally posted by UserX View PostI don't think that "none" would be one of those options.

i am an all natural type of guy: natural birth, no epidural, breastfeed no formula, no yearly vaccinations(other than what was required by school/military), no caffeine regularly and no flu shot
i have never gotten the flu or been hospitalized for any kind of sickness. also i have never been what you would call "sick" ..ever
sometimes in the winter i get a runny nose for a day or two but that's about it. the human body is a pretty amazing machine.. i say leave it alone and he will be just fine
buuut of course this place is for retards so either chop the top of his dick off to make him look "cool" or leave it natural and it will look like an anteater at times

no, hence the reason i put the quotations. that is the main reason most people do it, for looks. some say it's medical but there are only millions of people that are not cut who are still aliveOriginally posted by Sean88gt View PostIf I read that right, you think circumcised dicks look cool?
to be honest i say leave it and when the kid is ready take him to the doctor and give him the choice instead of making it for him. i am also not a parent so to some i am just talking out of my ass
