That isn't true. They tax the first $113,700 you make at an additional 2% over last year, so if your first check happens to be $113,700 (like Davbrucas!) it all comes from there.

True I was averaging out. So eventually you will see an increase in your check by 6.2% when you hit 137,000

SS withholding phased out last year at $90K. Meaning that once you eclipsed the $90K mark in annual income, they stopped withholding. For most DFWM members, that was probably sometime in Feb 12, so you've probably gotten used to a larger check.
