I'm not sure if you could figure out the exact components but it sounds like you probably maxed out 401k contributions earlier in the year, probably your social security conbtribution too then those things started being taken out again in 2013. Those are the problems you have to deal with when you are balling out of mother fucking control, kind of like having too much money and not being able to remember where it is at or deciding which Bentley to drive.

I got a good brain teaser for you payroll whizzes. This is 100% accurate to the dollar. I get paid weekly and I am only talking about base salary which was the same the last week of 2012 and this first week of 2013.

I got $528 less this first paycheck of 2013 versus the last week of 2012 only on my base salary. I make decent money, but not crazy money. How did that happen?

You make over 110k a year.. Some time last year your payrol tX contribution stopped making your paycheck go up thr 4.2% that were paying. Then jan 1st they pulled out 6.2%. so your delta was 528, but i might be totaly wrong.

Those of you saying much more than 100/check are either making way over 250K, get paid monthly, or aren't lookin at increases in other things. The 2% increase caps at 113,700 which means a person paid biweekly would see no more than an $87.46 hit per check.

There's also an additional Medicare tax being withheld from a subset of wage earners.
