I just called the cops yesterday on a guy who was in front of my neighbors house when he wasn't home. Mesquite PD came out and told the guy to leave, didn't even question the guy. Pretty lazy police work if you ask me. I hope I'm not like that when I get out of the academy.

Well once I got home, the cop had been there a few minutes, I let him know that they stole a 9mm with 2 clips and 30 rounds of hollow points in it, they put a pep in their step on getting that info in the system

Without question its like this ^^. It take the eyes of the community to help us out. Anything out of the ordinary call 911... Who cares if it turns out to nothing. Just never know.

Kudos on the actual police work for a change. (Not you specifically, just in general). I bet days like that make it almost worthwhile, even though they are few and far between.

Refreshing for sure and yes very few and far between. Its always pleasurable putting felons away, especially thieves and individual causing physical harm to true victims. A few days after this a citizen called in a burglary in progress as she witnessed some guys breaking into the adjacent apt. We got there quick apprehended one of the suspects and put the evidence we need together to charge him with the burglary. Was able to get the caller to do a field show up. After the field show up I praised the caller for about 5 minutes in front of her family and friends. She was glowing with pride and hopefully continue to be vigilant and help us out in the future.

Me too. My office is just north of Greenville Ave. & Royal. The building is set back from Greenville and backs up to a creek, so it's pretty dark once the sun goes down. This place has been broken into several times in the 15 years I've been here. Unfortunate for them, we have a really good alarm system and there really isn't anything of any significant value other than some old computers. I doubt they want our case files.

actually what they did was rip the motor out of the pump itself. It's one of those badass ones that look like a diaper bag so they prolly yanked the motor to use it as a bad. The disturbung thing is they kept the tubing....

Oh crap...I live in Lake Highlands too. I'm near Audelia and Walnut Hill and there's a couple of other DFWM members here that live around that area. Sorry to hear that, but that crap has been happening more and more over the last 12-18 months. I have an alarm on my house and security cameras and they only that's been stolen was 1 of my kids bikes.

I work at walnut hill/audelia....criminal activity has seen to be picking up lately. 3 employees cars have been broken into within the last month or so. I see crackheads walking around all the time mainly coming from some apts. across the street on audelia side. sad thing is there is a DPD substation not too far away and i always see cop cars coming and going, they just never seem to be around when needed.
