Sean, that's really a low blow. It's not unusual for a plea to be agreed on in these cases. It keeps the child from the further emotional trauma that comes from their attacker's right to face their accuser in court. Not to mention, the terms of probation are so ridiculously strict, that it's basically setting the attacker up for failure. The caveat is catching them in the act and getting a decent judge that will revoke probation.

I was talking about how lightly the guy got off, not the fact that he agreed to the plea. The father could have said that he wants stiffer punishment or rejected the plea altogether.

I don't think the other guy in the thread that knows the family would have come in and said that the father agreed to the plea.

I know damn well that if a DA took a plea deal that I didn't want them to take would be labeled as "accepting a plea deal." Anyone I told the story to would know that it was all the DA's doing, and I wanted no part of it.

The father was talked into the plea deal because the conditions of probation will, more than likely, get the perv violated and thrown in jail. Doing this keeps his daughter from further torment and gets the same end result.
