I'm just here to argue. You're right.. But a pandemic of 11" sandwiches isn't just an accident.

Solutions. They're out there. Or you could make it over 12" to accommodate the shrinkage and still call it a foot long

They can get it much closer than that, or they need to fucking fire their vendor and QC. I think the law suit is frivolous, but Subway knows damn well what they've been doing. It is false advertising, period. What McShitstain's does is at least ethical, in that respect. They admit it is pre cook weight, even if it is in fine print.

Oh, and this doesn't exactly do anything to help the widely acknowledged stereotype thatSubway franchisees are notoriously cheap, by any means necessary.

what about when they wrap the sammichs? could some of the bread lose its length from being wrapped tightly?

It's not rocket science, they can make the bread at least 12" every time.

Though the bread is cheaper than meat/cheese, and they are still putting the same amount on each sandwich. It probably that the teenagers working in the shops are took lazy to ensure they pull the bread far enough in the former

It depends on the individual store and if the employees follow procedure. If the bread is not proofed properly it will be undersized (or oversized and of poor consistency). When you're paying someone minimum wage, getting them to be meticulous when bakin the bread is not easy.

I was a certified sandwich artist back in my prime.

I wonder if he measured the flat bread? That's not baked onsite. Either way, it's a bullshit lawsuit IMO.
