Because they're looking for leverage and trying to guilt you, even if it means just leverage to get you on the defensive enough to cut them a deal on repairs. You and him know you didn't lie or do anything wrong, but he's trying to get you into the mindset of being in the wrong and nice people are typically more compliant when they feel guilty... It's a learned tactic by hoodrattery everywhere; it's everyone else fault but theirs, do what's gotta be done to get what you want.

BTW Don, we are having an issue with the Mustang.. When are you going to come over and fix it? lol!

I find a guy selling a pair of 15-22 mags on craigslist. 2 magazines. I message him, he tells me he wants $50 for the pair. I inform him they are $14.50 online each. He then tells me he paid $28 each, and $18 to ship them. I tell him okay, $50 is fine, but I'm 100 miles away, which is $30 in gas, so if he covers my gas I'll do it. He asks me why he should pay for my gas? I tell him the same reason I should pay for his shipping. He then became upset. Guy is trying to retire on the damn things.
