Just a personal perspective:

I have and have had a handfull of people in my direct contact that were gay/lesbian. None of them were ever innapropriate, or would enter into conversation about thier sexual preference openly. My parents were great about being approachable when I had a question about something, and I was tought to ask questions when i didnt understand something. My dad was of the opinion that I should be tought the good and bad about whatever it was, and then I should be able to form my own opinions, and make my own choices. He would also give his personal opinions, and why he came to it. Being homosexual was one of those things. I dont feel like it makes a big difference either way to me.

My kids will be brought up that way. I will hopefully guide them into making their own decisions, and do my best to teach them good moral values. I dont think that teaching a child that being gay is bad or wrong is nessisarily a good thing.
