You can't be serious!
That is just not the place to do it. Can you be gay and be around children? Sure, just don't be exercising anything that is deemed inappropriate in front of other peoples children.
I don't care if you are straight. If you push your sexual preference openly in front of other peoples children (verbal or physically), then something is wrong with you. Keep it in the bedroom.

Elvis hit the nail on the head for my exact views.
I will say I am a hypocrite as I have enjoyed my time with bi chicks.

I have an I dont give a shit attitude about nearly everything. If you want to be gay, that is your business, but don't flaunt it. That said, I made the mistake of walking into six flags on gay pride day. I was on vacation with no access to the internet and six flags didn't advertise it. Lets just say that I lost all respect for the gay community on that day. Men in speedos making out while riding the foot massagers, women going down on each other in line, being completely disrespectful to security, staff, and straight guests. Basically acting like the rules didn't apply to them.

In general I am an advocate of gay rights. As a former boy scout, I do believe that the boy scouts is not a place for that battle. The boy scouts represent and will represent values that parents deem acceptable. The Boy Scouts are a private organization, and as such should be allowed to establish their own policies.
As for those who like to make fun of the Boy Scouts, I would like to point out that most of today's children spend their time on the computer and tv playing games. I don't see whats so gay about being taught how to shoot, how to camp/hike/survive on your own in the wilderness. Many children raised in the suburbs never get that kind of opportunity. The uniform looks outdated, but when I got to boot camp (almost 10 years ago) I was in a minority when it came to people who could iron their clothes, and knew how to wear a uniform with pride. I saw many 18 year old "kids" in boot camp cry because it was the first time they had been away from their parents. I think more people need some time in an organization like the Boy Scouts.

As for the leap that gay=pedophile, they are both deviant sexual lifestyles so the leap isn't a far one to make. Personally I would never have my son be in a troop led by a gay scoutmaster.
I say all this as someone who has no problem with most gay folks I meet. They are just people. But much like Elvis I have a right to regulate who my children come in contact with in various settings.
A fact that seems to get lost in the wash here lately is that word "tolerance" is a two way street.
Awesome

So with that said, no, my son would not be in the boy scouts. Might as well be a pediphile saying you want to baby sit kids.
You can't be serious!
