the only thing he will learn is that the city will do anything to make a buck and this is a prime example. gotta keep that revenue coming into the system!

Why would you pay the ticket? Take your child to court and tell them you want your kid to work it off. To many parents are paying for their kids mistakes instead of making the kids do it. 99.9% of judges would give the kid some sort of community service.
