If you want a good credit record, use at least one of your cards to keep it/them active and to have a record of spending within your limits and paying off on time at the end of each month. Discipline yourself, son.Originally posted by bonnie&clyde View Postyeah im gonna try to just buy everything cash, im still gonna keep the CC's open so i have a good credit to debt ratio, trying to buy a house here soon

There is no need in using credit cards every month to "keep them, or your credit history, active", as if your credit card will magically become inactive. As long as you have not cancelled the card and there is a zero balance the credit card company will send the standard positive report "pays as agreed or paying as agreed" to the bureaus . You do not need to use your credit every month. He's already got history since he racked up 20k worth debt that is now only 100 short of being paid in full.Originally posted by SS Junk View PostIf you want a good credit record, use at least one of your cards to keep it/them active and to have a record of spending within your limits and paying off on time at the end of each month. I have a Chase Rewards Visa and been doing this for 4+ years. I have actually gotten my limit raised three times and have only paid 2$ in interest in the past 3 years.Originally posted by likeitfast55 View PostThis is great. The CC companies call you a "freeloader". They raised my interest rate and lowered my limit because I was doing this. I promptly canceled the Bank of America Visa.
Maybe shitty ass Bank of America policies.

I do this with Discover as well (received $1500 cash back last year) and they have increased my limit as well.Originally posted by hunt4m3x View PostI have a Chase Rewards Visa and been doing this for 4+ years. Enjoy your debt lifestyle, plastic slaves.Originally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

I care credit card debt all the time. As long as I don't pay interest and receive some type of awards...
Credit Cards are tools, learn to use them."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"
