well im using turbotax online and it's suggesting that we file married (yes we are) and file separate. if we file jointly we owe $600. i knew this wasnt the place to ask but for every 2 pages of jackassedness i will get 2 posts of genuine advice.
my wife just went contract when she got pregnant and for some reason her dumbass HR/payroll guy didnt mention that she should withhold some earnings. i guess my question is if i get her a new w-4 now, can i make her withhold enough to cover last years return so maybe she will just break even this time next year?THE BAD HOMBRE

Black person gets back $4,000 and white person has to pay $3,500??
Sounds about par for the course.Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.

Take your $500, and collect next year. Don't make it too complicated.Originally posted by naynay View Postwell im using turbotax online and it's suggesting that we file married (yes we are) and file separate. if we file jointly we owe $600. i knew this wasnt the place to ask but for every 2 pages of jackassedness i will get 2 posts of genuine advice.

Why do you think he works Stop 6? Easier to club minorities the day after his wife lays the smack down on his candy ass at home!

I have nothing of value to add. I read your response too quickly.Originally posted by naynay View Postwell im using turbotax online and it's suggesting that we file married (yes we are) and file separate. if we file jointly we owe $600. i knew this wasnt the place to ask but for every 2 pages of jackassedness i will get 2 posts of genuine advice.

Honestly I don't think it works that way (just withhold more next year), I think you have to work out a repayment plan and end up paying penalties and /or interest of some sort. Also keep in mind that doing this would reduce your (her) income next year, so if you count on that money then trying to defer like you suggested is probably a bad idea.Originally posted by naynay View Postwell im using turbotax online and it's suggesting that we file married (yes we are) and file separate. if we file jointly we owe $600. i knew this wasnt the place to ask but for every 2 pages of jackassedness i will get 2 posts of genuine advice.

Taking that $4,000 is tempting but don't do it. Square up with the IRS and work the rest out amongst yourselves.
