Certain things set off my boy. He gets into a frothy mess if he is in the backyard and I am on the mower in the front. But he is just having fun. Our mutts are indoor dogs but they go out throughout the day and have about an acre to enjoy. A lot of board members have been to my place and met our two. They don't sit outside and bark all day and night. We have a beagle across the street that does though. Not a big deal to us, the houses are so spread apart, you have to be an asshole to care about a little beagle barking, baying etc. Even the yippers are far enough away and eventually settle down that it doesn't bother us. We just shake our head and let out two go play with them.

Cobrajet69 has been on the receiving end of it a few times.

My dogs are inside at night. Hell, if he was barking as much as some of you are implying, I'd shoot him myself.

So I can understand why some may want to remain passive aggressive. The nice approach fails from drunken asshole whom is pissed at you because he failed to do anything about his dogs barking all night for weeks at a time.

Texas T how long is to long? You said hours on end but 15 minutes at 3am can be forever. Not saying that's your case but at the wrong time and over time a barky dog can piss you the fuck off.

NOT condoning what your neighbors did BTW I am a fan of knowing and talking to them.

I don't mind my neighbors dogs barking it is what dogs do, to a point. On one side I mentioned the insane level of barking "just because" and they fixed it. The other side is aware of the problem and trying.

At what point will they take the hint that I know when they are gone? The dogs are out back barking for FUCKING HOURS when they are gone. I don't want to water hose them or anything but fuck when is enough enough? I like my neighbors and mention it when it's getting out of control but nothing changes over time. That's what gets me steamed.

Sounds like they would get a dead dog thrown over their fence.

If you have a house alarm...or car alarm... Do you let it blare all damn day under the lazy white trash excuse of "it's an alarm...that's what they do"?

It's not a half and half thing. Everyone wants you to reapond in a sensible manner by talking to the neighbor, and everyone wants you to shut your dog the hell up.
I have neither that is why I have a dog. Plus he provides protection as an additional feature.
He is not barking for hours on end, he stays inside at night and the jackbag neighbor is just being a problem. They will get a video made next time it happens and then a call to our local law enforcement to create a paper trail of their harasment of him.

I'm not a poor neighbor, as you and others are implying. If this was handed in a manner without harrasing our pet it could be remedied in short order. Even if I am the problem, I see nothing wrong with my pet defending his territory. Sorry you don't see it that way.
