Do I need to come in here and explain all this shit?Originally posted by racrguy View PostI hate to interject here in your moon blood showing, but just because you explain your opinion doesn't make it not retarded. Many people can perfectly explain extremely retarded ideas.

What I said in both of those quotes are not contradictory. Some people that have served attempt to elevate themselves above others without proper justification. Solely because you served does not make you better or worse than any other person in the country, therefore you do not get any less or any more respect than another person.Originally posted by Pro Trash View PostYou state that
If you read passage #38 you argued the following;
Millions have done what billions feared to do in my opinion. Could you please confirm exactly how it is you feel about military service. I am bit confused.

i prefer passionate.Originally posted by racrguy View PostAnd what's to say I don't do these things? When we first started disagreeing on things I treated you better than anyone else would have gotten, solely because of the word of people I do trust saying that you're an alright guy, you have since proven yourself to be hard-headed and emotional so you do not get the benefit of the doubt and are treated on the same level you treat others.

No problemOriginally posted by Jester View PostMisread the first part about hate....my bad.
I said pretty much the same thing, but now that I reread what I wrote it can be kind of confusing. There are instances where you sign a contract to work for a company in exchange for something, usually training, but those are few and far between. The only thing they can do to you is charge you for the monetary cost of the training if you leave prior to fulfilling the contract.And no, jobs dont have a length of time that you have to work there....the military does so if you dont like it you are fucked.....if you do like it, you can keep doing it. You try to quit that job and your ass ends up in the brig.
And I don't treat them any better or worse than any other person.I take back what I said about not owing them anything....i think you owe them respect. Simple as that.

To be honest Tim, you will find egomaniacs that the only thing they have is being a grunt. You will also have true professionals that are masters at what they do and no matter what, you will come away better for it.Originally posted by 8mpg View PostI may still join by applying to the Army CRNA school and give them 8 years of my life...not 100% sure yet. These are the choices we make in life. Some people will go into the military and serve their entire life, some will be firefighters/police/EMS, and some will run Wall St.

[QUOTE=racrguy;1021451]Doing heroic shit makes you a hero, not simply signing on the dotted line.
I think there are too many past, present, and future service members that need to be knocked down a peg or two so that they realize that they're just regular people that do a regular job that millions before them have done and millions after them will do.[QUOTE]

And they get every ounce of respect they deserve, the same amount shown to any other run of the mill person.
Jobs, generally, also don't have contracts that spell out a length of time you must work there.
