Can you show me a ruling or some case law, I just searched and couldn't find anything. Not doubting you but I would like to see that ruling myself

If that's the way they searched every house yeah I would probably be dead. That is some bullshit, no respect. Fuck em

I don't think resistance would have gone over too well.

not everyone just steeped aside and allowed entrance.

Oh snap, good question. Weren't the people supposed to be on lock down in their homes?

I don't disagree with you Jared, and might do the same depending on circumstances(although honestly, I doubt it). However, I'm interested in knowing if it was a choice or not for those homeowners.

That is a hard one to call. We live in a huge metroplex, if they Marshall lawed DFW I would have to say may ass would be bugging out, but if I didn't I would tentatively allow a search. All this just stinks worse than a ten day old shit sandwich.

Why, in this situation, would you hold it against anyone that allowed the cops to search their homes, and why would you resist? Is it just principle?

In most situations, I would strongly defend my home against any uninvited entrance. But, in this exact situation, I think I'd probably invite them in to sweep through my home looking for the suspect. I want them to catch the guy, and if this gives me an opportunity to help, I'd be okay with it.
I personally have nothing to hide and would consent to a Search if it was just 1 cop and I could be in each room that was being searched. It's the same as letting a stranger walk through your house and go through all your shit.

^not answering for brent but my .02 is that the problem is that cops rush in and move you away from the scene and then after tell you what happened. i have been on ride-a-longs and saw things that did not get written down on the report. small stuff but it was not put in there on purpose. when you have hundreds of cops/fbi/whoever flush an entire area of civilians(aka witnesses) away.. whatever they want to write down is what "happened". now that people can easily listen in on police scanners things are getting caught by the public that never have before

that's just my take on it anyway

But fuck you in the neck, you aren't coming in my house without resistance.

i remember watching around 6-7am central before heading to work.

camera man tried to run and see what the commotion was but was unable to even comprehend the direction.

not sure what happened but if those were live rounds, someone or something has a lot of holes in them.

It also begs the question of, what would have happened had someone stood their ground, and told them to pound sand? I have not yet seen where they have taken a stance one way or the other, on whether or not martial law was declared. We'd probably have some dead homeowners. Or they would have overpowered, detained, and searched anyways. Then said homeowner could file suit against every agency involved, and get hood rich.

I've been wondering about that a lot myself. I never saw it clarified if they were asking to search homes, just talking with owners to determine if there was a problem, or outright demanding that homes all be searched.
