Long story short, Subway just pre-approved me financially for starting a franchise. Im moving back to Dallas in June, and would like to explore the possibility of opening a few up.

I know of of someone that has a Jimmy Johns.. He probably won't want to help the competition though.Originally posted by eastsidetorino View PostLong story short, Subway just pre-approved me financially for starting a franchise. True. Lowest initial investment. It's all about location though. I think they over expanded personally. But good luckOriginally posted by 03mustangdude View Posti heard subway was by far the easiest to open up franchise wise and that's why there are some everywhere.07 f250-family truckster

Agreed on all counts. I'm also seeing that Austin and Dallas are two of the most rapidly growing cities in the US right now, and I think the best earnings potential would be to start up the location, and sell after establishing a positive cash flow (and before another subway pops up across the street)...but then again, Id like to buy a few beers, and maybe follow around someone who has franchise experience to figure out the reality of that plan, potential roadblocks, downfalls, etc. My restaurant experience is mostly through playing sub-in GM for a Brazilian steakhouse here in Hawaii, so while I'm sure some small things will carry over, the bulk of issues will be completely different.Originally posted by whitetrash View PostTrue. If I wanted to own a fast food franchise this would be it. I don't know if they keep themselves from over expanding or what.Originally posted by QIK46 View PostOpen a chik fil a
If I had the cash to invest and could get city approval I know where I would put even. And have it paid for in less than 5 years I'd bet.07 f250-family truckster

Honestly, if cost weren't a factor, I would probably go with a Panera Bread. The failure rate of their franchisees are without a doubt the lowest. Ive also been told Salata has a good product, and few competitors.Originally posted by Slowhand View PostPretty solid franchise model, although they do require you to put in pretty heavy hours in your store itself.
