Read your service manual for recommended service intervals. They have changed it quite a bit. I know on alot or most new gas cars Ford says every 5k for severe duty. 7.5 k for regular driving and hybrids are 10 or 15k for oil changes. Oil as well as vehicle effeciency has changed so much that things go farther.

I was at 1,500 miles. Like David said, I'm just too used to changing the oil to get all of the assembly lube and fine metal particulate out of the engine.Originally posted by Rreemo View PostDamn, you must be driving the hell out of that thing already....how many miles you at?
I will change it at 3,000 and then again at 6,000 miles.
Then at 10k I will switch to Mobil 1 5w20 and change it every 5k thereafter.

WTF man....off-the-wall post of the year right there!Originally posted by IHaveAMustang View PostDon't mean to Hijack
But I am looking for a 1988 Buick Riviera, prefer the grandma gold, but will take Teal, but ONLY if it has the red/brown leather seats. It must have the digital dashboard...trying to stay under $800...kthxbye
Wouldn't an 88' Rivi be one of those FWD hoopties? My Dad used to have somewhere about an 83-85 Toronoto like that. Pimp Juice!!

You seem to have shot across three lanes of traffic, just to end up taking the wrong exit.Originally posted by IHaveAMustang View PostDon't mean to Hijack

He's old school'n it. I told him that it wasn't necessary to change the engine break-in oil any more. But it isn't going to hurt it anyway

Damn, you must be driving the hell out of that thing already....how many miles you at?Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostDid the first oil change on the truck today. Ford has a cool little drain funnel under the filter that directs the oil to your catch, but what I did not see that it must also drain to the back. I was like "WTF" when I saw the oil draining to the rear as well and had to readjust the drain pan.

I'm sure that was, cough cough, on official police business.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostIt's gonna have to be from a dig.
I accidentally found out that the truck is limited to about 98 mph!
Okay, belay my last statement.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostShould I just pay you now?
It looks like I need to check into getting the truck tuned so I can have the limiter removed.
