Rreemo. Good response and if it went down as you said, I would have been pretty pissed too.Originally posted by Rreemo View PostOk...it's long, but I want to tell the whole story so we can close this thread down.
We are finally doing a refinance on our place and I have also noticed that Zillow has mistakes on its listing for us also. Sad thing is, I am dreading an appraisal for the same reasons you posted about. "that doesn't add value" I know it is hard to swallow that my $2,000 installed A/C unit in the garage doesn't add value but damn at least tell me gently. I also dread them coming in and telling me about what they see negative. My wife will take that REAL well.Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

SVT Lurch laid it out in real terms, and caught flak for it.
Reemo just experienced it pretty much like it was laid out, although there was some after-thought level of vidication from a business perspective. I don't think any OTHER appraiser would raise the appraisal significantly either until you address SVT Lurch's items. You could have taken the experienced-opinion and saved yourself frustations, but you had to find out the hard way.

Also, Zillow/Trulia, et al, pulls data from public records. So, if you want the real data to be on the web, you will have to talk to the county tax assessors and get it in their documentation.
And likely raise your county taxes also.Last edited by jayjohnson600; 05-10-2013, 12:25 AM.Jay Johnson

Denton County just slightly East of the Wise county line. Take FM407 approx. 6-10 miles West of the outer city limits of Justin...that's the general area. I live off of (not on) Sam Reynolds road...in a development that is all 1 to 6 acre lots. There are also some really cool places around New Fairview too....if you look at a map, look particularly in the area of Kincannon Ln, Audra Circle, Christy Kay Ln, Old Chisholm Trail, etc. There are some good deals from time-to-time...a few months ago there was a 10-acre square off of Kincannon...they were asking $55K for it, county water and electric up to the property...actually still has an old barn on it. Pretty square and flat though...all the trees are out around the property lines. Of course that is an unimproved area, and a little ways further out than I am. The 1-acre lots in my area (what's left of them) have been going between $45K-$55K depending on where they are situated.Originally posted by GeorgeG. View PostI'd like to know what part of town you live in....I can't seem to find an acre of dirt that's not so far out of the city limits that there isn't water and electricity.... or habitation.
There are a few private air strips out here...one in particular is in between Graben Ln. and Dillavou Ln....some guy that lives at the South end has an old DC3 sitting just parked next to his house...it's cool as hell, and kind of crazy to see the thing sitting there, if you look at a birds-eye map you can get an idea of how big it is when you see it compared to his house. I don't know the guy but I have heard that he is a commercial pilot...actually flew it in and landed it on that grass strip a few years ago, and has had it parked out next to his house ever since.70' Chevelle RagTop
