Can someone explain to me what is so awesome about owning a local web forum that would require you to undo all the current work that has been done for the sake of 100% control by wanting to start yet another new website? Was the forum really generating that much revenue?

It can add up... Looks like 10 advertisers on there right now including Nick.. At $100/month, minus say $400 operating costs... $600/month for just hanging out aint bad. Dont know how much day to day work there actually is.

I could be way off...but I remember there were a couple levels of advertising, but I dont recall it costing that much. Less than $200/month

We have 2 advertising packages. The first is our premium banner package that includes the following:

468x60 banner linked to your site
Listing in advertisers index
Permission to post ads in the forms
sticky posts for sales and specials
authorized advertiser designation in your posts
free paid membership
free banner design if needed
$100/m billed quarterly, 3 month minimum run
25% discount for 1 year prepaid

The other is $50/m and includes permission to post ads in one forum of our choosing based upon type of business.

and I think there were about 10 or so regular 50/mo advertisers

Also cost to host a website, shouldn't be much more than 100 bucks tops for a site like this.
