When Chili and I were dating, my house was in Keller and he was still working in Las Colinas. Thank god we were newly dating because he never bitched about the drive.

Fast forward to now-I ask about moving back there and he sweetly, but firmly shakes his head and gives me the 'HELL no'. He said that was the worst commute EVER and would never do that again. lol

and whats with the damn cover charge...thats what pissed me off about the place.

I'll defend them on the cover charge. They had no choice. It started getting 'thuggish' in there when Prime closed (previously another place, same thing happened). They are doing it to try and keep the riff raff out.


My final straw was when my wife and I, and a buddy and his woman went in for drinks one night. Paid the cover charge, I understand why they were doing it. Didn't plan on eating, so no big deal. Just pool and drinks, should be fine, right? They brought my buddy the wrong drink THREE TIMES, messed up on his girl's drink at least once, then charged us for all the drinks she messed up on. She refused to take them off the ticket, so we had to get rowdy with a manager. I haven't been back, and won't go back after that debacle.

It's just the construction. I am about 35 miles from work in Coppell (635 and Royal) and it takes me 30 minutes or so to get there in the mornings. I am 2 miles from 35 near Alliance airport. lol

I haven't been to Cool River in 3-4 months. When did they start with the cover charge? That's fucked! I never really liked that place. Too pricey for what it is.

And fuck driving all the way over there if they are in Keller/Mid-cities.

I like Grapevine, and Flips' patio is one of my faves for a happy hour. But shit, it's too cold for that.

Even Grapevine is too far, though. There have to be more places on the West side.

Flips has a new location at 35W and I think it's Western Center.

I've enjoyed some great Happy Hours at my house. As far as restaurants, I'd say TGIF if you use the Stripes Reward program. You build up points fast and they constantly send you coupons for free dessert, 15% off, etc..

I wouldn't say it's new, it's been there for at least a year. That location has tons of inside seating as well as the patio. It's a little hard to figure out how to get there but when you exit Western Center head east and it's the first parking lot on the left, same one as Jimmy Johns.

They don't have the cheapest drinks in town by any measure but they have pool tables, lots of TVs, plenty of seating and better than mediocre food.
