To the doctors, what is it that makes the Whipple procedure so difficult/long? I'm amazed how a surgeon can work on the heart or in the brain and how does working on those areas compare to the Whipple. Is it the location of the Pancreas, the amount of experienced doctors, or something else that makes it so difficult?
I'm NOT a doc, but I think they can only use it under circumstances. In the mid-'90's, my uncle had pancreatic cancer and the tumor was in the wrong spot. It's a VERY precise, detailed surgical procedure.

The fact that the Whipple procedure is even being discussed is good news for you. You will beat this no problem. But, you will wish you were dead the first week or so after surgery. Good luck my man...dont hesitate to call if you have questions that you dont think are being answered.

    Check your PM.
