  • hints on how to use a public data account

I've used about 50 lookups and never found shit.

What are you trying to find? It works well to find an address based upon their license and to look up license plates. Make sure you're selecting your target state, which I assume would be Texas.

if you are looking for criminal stuff it is hit and miss, Larger counties are pretty good at reporting, smaller counties and a lot of out of state... not so much. Federal you must get through PACER. Civil information is about the same, hit and miss.

If you're not pulling back anything from a criminal perspective then they are clean or have not had anything in the past 7 or 10 years - whichever it is.

I see a place on public data for a name but nothing comes back for him or her. don't see anyplace to use the address data?

Go down to the county courthouse. Almost all counties have a "hot check" office now and are pretty good at getting you your money.
I had to use it in Navarro once for an $800 check and while it took a couple weeks I did get my money.

thanks, this is a first for me

as soon as I get the check in hand, I'll go to the courthouse.

Try this, do a google search for whichever county he is from ie: collin county case lookup, or dallas county case look up. You should be able to access the court information there.
