Not really. Most vets who head into law enforcement try to do the right thing but you have some who get off on power and can't live without exerting authority over someone else. Did I hit a nerve?Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostFrost would go out of his mind thinking of Vet on Vet violence!I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

Hahaha! Not hardly!Originally posted by Forever_frost View PostNot really. Most vets who head into law enforcement try to do the right thing but you have some who get off on power and can't live without exerting authority over someone else. Did I hit a nerve?
You don't realize that a huge number of officers ( almost half of my academy class was military) are vets yet you act as if all police are pure bred hate mongers.

Unfortunately I believe that it does which is very surprising to me since I am not a FTP type and am generally a law and order type but I should have picked my words a little more carefully. When I said "kill my dog" I should have said murder. I also doubt that I could kill a true child but every one is someones child, adult or otherwise. The final straw for me was a recent court ruling that said that pet owners were not entitled to damages for a wrongful death. Since there is no more legal recourse to avenge the death of what I love as much as life itself I will come up with it on my own if it ever comes down to it regardless of what I believe the final outcome will be. If a few psychos take out a disproportionate level of revenge for the death of their pets maybe the "Cops" will change their tactics. Hopefully my dog will die of old age but I have never been so foolish as to think that I will be as fortunate.Originally posted by racrguy View PostI hope your statements in this thread don't accurately reflect your mental processes then.
It is very unlikely that half of the PD in any city in the north east consist of veterans while that is very likely in the south.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View Post

Bred? Hardly. There is a certain group of people who are drawn to positions of authority. Especially authority over the lives of others that permit you incredible freedoms not available to citizens, a firearm and the ability to mouth off to anyone you like while hiding behind the badge. I've seen a lot of MP's like that and officers. Then you have those who went in with good intentions and get corrupted by the power and by their peers telling them "It's okay" and covering up for each other.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostHahaha! Any cop who enters a home illegally (wrong address, etc) should be fired AFTER being forced to pay for damages to the home. If they kill a pet, jail time same as if I shoot a police K9. Equal protections under the law, right officer?I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

I'd like to put that on a recruiting flyer and see what it does to the number of applicants.Originally posted by Forever_frost View Post

Are you really stating you're held to the same laws I am? If I kill a police dog, I go to prison. A cop kills my dog, no big deal. I speed, I get ticketed. Cop does it, nothing. I hit a cop, prison. Cop hits me? Maybe paid time off if he doesn't say he felt threatened. A cop draws his weapon on me? May file a report, nothing happens if he 'felt threatened.' I draw on a cop? I get killed.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostI'd like to put that on a recruiting flyer and see what it does to the number of applicants.
No double standard is there? You never answer that simple question. You dance around it, you poke fun but you never address it.I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

Seriously?!? Did you really just imply that individuals considering a law enforcement career might be otherwise swayed if they were informed in advance that doing something wrong might actually get them in trouble?Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostI'd like to put that on a recruiting flyer and see what it does to the number of applicants.
