Arlington was a great place to grow up, though it was always shitty east of Cooper. Now Benbrook is where I'm raising my kid and its fantastic. Close enough to downtown FW for me, none of the big city problems.
Same here. We must know a lot of the same people. I'm still friends with the Fellas (not sure if that rings any bells, but according to Officer Humpty, we were on a gang watch list because the 20 of us were named and "organized", lol).

7.25% annual return (or 3.5% real), not bad at all.Originally posted by bcoop View PostI think he will get around $345,000 for it when he sells. 5/3/2, 3200 sq ft on a corner lot, rear entry garage, 3 living areas, open kitchen, and formal dining. 2013 file hasn't been updated yet but even with 5 murders this year overall major crime has been trending downward for quite some time.

I've got staggered 18's and 19's, so I guess I'm working my way up the criminal ranks. I think I'll go snatch a few purses from little old ladies this weekend, and work on that street cred.

You really can't defend Arlington with neighbors like yours!
"I won that Camero."
And yes, he audibly misspelled the car he drove.
lol, those people are why I close my garage door before I even get out of my car.

Working in GP and very close to the Arlington side I see it all. Around the 360/pioneer area it is not uncommon to see more than a few mondays in their pajama pants out walkin around or eating around noon. I always tell my buddies "they must be on their lunch break".

Grew up in Arlington, graduated Arlington High in 94 and my parents still live there. I on the other hand didn't like the amount of shitty areas popping up. We gladly pay that premium each month to live out as far as we do in Haslet. Anything on aftermarket 20's and up in our neighborhood stands way out. I actually caught myself on the phone one day while standing out in the driveway unloading the truck "what the fuck, Carl there is a black guy cruising the neighborhood. Oh, my bad, he is the rural mail carrier" ooops.

I really didn't have much of a choice at the time, but I got out when I could!Originally posted by talisman View PostYup. No way i'd live in that area, even back in the 90's. Some of those apartments the pizza delivery places won't even make runs to because they are too dangerous.

Definitely not what I would call "decent" by any stretch. It's just that much worse now. I think the easy getaway access makes anything close to 360 a target for crime - especially smash and grabs, home burglaries, and drive-bys. Lots and lots of drugs in that part of Arlington, too.

When I moved in in 2007, it was decent.
