Do you just snag them and drag them away then strap them down? or do you strap them where they are when picked up?

Depends on the situation.

If they are FWD and parked head in then no. I'll pick it up by the rear, strap the rear tires, and drag it around the corner. Once I'm out of danger, I'll drop it and flip around to grab it from the front to finish loading it.

If I can grab it by the drive wheels, then yes I grab it and go. Once I'm around the corner, I'll strap it and throw the lights on.
